यह घटना उसके बाद सामने आई जब बांग्लादेश क्रिकेट बोर्ड (BCB) ने सुरक्षा कारणों और ‘राष्ट्रीय अपमान’ का हवाला देते हुए भारत में मैच खेलने से साफ इनकार कर दिया।

दरअसल, इस पूरे विवाद की शुरुआत तब हुई जब भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड (BCCI) ने कथित तौर पर आईपीएल फ्रैंचाइजी कोलकाता नाइट राइडर्स (KKR) को मुस्तफिजुर रहमान को उनकी टीम से बाहर करने का निर्देश दिया। मुस्तफिजुर को केकेआर ने 9.2 करोड़ रुपये में खरीदा था, लेकिन बीसीसीआई के निर्देश पर बांग्लादेश के इस खिलाड़ी को रिलीज कर दिया।
