अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनल्ड ट्रंप ने रूस से तेल खरीदने पर भारत पर लगे 25% टैरिफ को हटा दिया है। यह फैसला भारत द्वारा रूस से सीधे या अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से तेल आयात बंद करने और अमेरिका से ऊर्जा उत्पाद खरीदने के वादे के बाद आया है। भारत ने अगले 10 सालों के लिए अमेरिका के साथ रक्षा सहयोग बढ़ाने पर भी सहमति जताई है।

ट्रंप ने शुक्रवार को एक कार्यकारी आदेश में कहा, “मुझे कार्यकारी आदेश 14066 में बताई गई नेशनल इमरजेंसी से निपटने के लिए भारत की कोशिशों के बारे में वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों से जानकारी और सुझाव मिले हैं। खास तौर पर भारत ने रूसी फेडरेशन से सीधे या अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से तेल इंपोर्ट बंद करने का वादा किया है। यह बताया है कि वह यूएस से एनर्जी प्रोडक्ट्स खरीदेगा। हाल ही में यूनाइटेड स्टेट्स के साथ अगले 10 सालों में डिफेंस कोऑपरेशन बढ़ाने के लिए एक फ्रेमवर्क पर सहमति जताई है।”
ट्रंप ने क्या फैसला लिया?
अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति ने कहा कि उन्हें दी गई जानकारी और सिफारिशों पर विचार करने के बाद उन्होंने यह तय किया है कि भारत ने कार्यकारी आदेश 14066 में बताई गई नेशनल इमरजेंसी से निपटने और राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा, विदेश नीति और आर्थिक मामलों पर अमेरिका के साथ पर्याप्त तालमेल बिठाने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठाए हैं। इसलिए, मैंने भारत से आने वाली चीजों के इंपोर्ट पर लगाए गए अतिरिक्त एड वैलोरम ड्यूटी रेट को खत्म करने का फैसला किया है।
साझा बयान में क्या कहा गया?
