नेपाल करीब एक दशक बाद 100 रुपए से ऊपर के भारतीय नोटों (Indian Currency Notes) को चलन में लाने की योजना बना रहा है। यह जानकारी एक नेपाली अखबार द्वारा प्रकाशित की गई एक रिपोर्ट में दी गई। इस हिमालयी पड़ोसी देश में करीब 10 साल से उच्च मूल्य के भारतीय नोटों पर प्रतिबंध लगा है।
‘द काठमांडू पोस्ट’ में नेपाली अधिकारियों के हवाले से बताया गया कि इस कदम से भारत यात्रा करने वाले नेपाली प्रवासी श्रमिकों के साथ-साथ दोनों देशों के छात्रों, तीर्थयात्रियों, चिकित्सा आगंतुकों और पर्यटकों की मुद्रा संबंधी समस्याओं में काफी राहत मिलेगी।
‘नेपाल गजट में अधिसूचना प्रकाशित करने की तैयारी’
नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंक (एनआरबी) के प्रवक्ता गुरु प्रसाद पौडेल ने कहा, “इसको लेकर हम नेपाल गजट में अधिसूचना प्रकाशित करने की तैयारी में हैं। उसके बाद नए नियम के बारे में बैंकों और वित्तीय संस्थानों को सर्कुलर जारी करेंगे।”
पौडेल ने कहा कि इस नए नियम की आधिकारिक तारीख अभी तय नहीं की गई है, लेकिन प्रक्रिया अंतिम चरण में है।
नेपाल में लंबे समय से उच्च मूल्य के भारतीय नोटों पर प्रतिबंध हटाने की मांग उठ रही थी, क्योंकि इससे पर्यटन उद्योग, खासकर हॉस्पिटैलिटी क्षेत्र को नुकसान हो रहा था। भारतीय पर्यटक बिना जानें नियमों का उल्लंघन कर रहे थे, जिसके चलते कई बार गिरफ्तारी और जुर्माने का भी सामना करना पड़ता था।
टूरिस्ट का सबसे बड़ा सोर्स
यह बदलाव भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) द्वारा विदेशी मुद्रा प्रबंधन (निर्यात और आयात मुद्रा) नियमों में 28 नवंबर, 2025 को किए गए संशोधन के बाद आया है, जिसके अनुसार कोई भी व्यक्ति नेपाल में 100 रुपए तक के किसी भी मूल्य के भारतीय नोट लेकर जा सकता है और वापस ला सकता है। साथ ही वह 100 रुपए से अधिक मूल्य के 25,000 रुपए तक के नोट दोनों दिशाओं में ले जा सकता है।
अभी, नेपाल आने वाले टूरिस्ट, जिनमें भारतीय भी शामिल हैं, बिना बताए 5,000 डॉलर या दूसरी बदली जा सकने वाली करेंसी में इसके बराबर की रकम ला सकते हैं। इससे अधिक रकम होने पर कस्टम्स में बतानी होगी, और टूरिस्ट 5,000 डॉलर से ज्यादा रकम बाहर नहीं ले जा सकते। फिलहाल, भारत नेपाल के लिए टूरिस्ट का सबसे बड़ा सोर्स बना हुआ है।
