मानसा प्रॉपर्टी डीलर्स एंड कॉलोनाइजर्स एसोसिएशन ने संपत्ति कारोबारियों के खिलाफ पंजाब सरकार की नीतियों के विरोध में आंदोलन शुरू करने का ऐलान कर दिया व कहा कि पंजाब सरकार ने संपत्ति, जमीन और जायदाद से संबंधित नई नीतियां बनाकर संपत्ति कारोबार को पूरी तरह से कुचल दिया है। अध्यक्ष बलजीत शर्मा, महासचिव इंदर सेन अकलिया, कैशियर महावीर जैन पाली, संयुक्त कैशियर रवि कुमार, वरिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष पारस जैन, परशोत्तम बंसल, सुरिंदर दानेवालिया और भूषण झुनीर ने कहा कि इतिहास में ऐसी सरकार कभी नहीं आई, जिसने सिर्फ बातें कीं और काम नहीं किया। सरकार इसी नीति का पालन कर रही है।
उन्होंने कहा कि पंजाब सरकार के सत्ता में आने के बाद नई कॉलोनियों को नियमित करने के लिए लगभग 123 रुपए प्रति गज या लगभग मरला निर्धारित किया गया था, लेकिन सरकार के नए अध्यादेश के साथ इसे बढ़ाकर 178 रुपए प्रति गज या 4325 रुपए प्रति मरला कर दिया गया, जिससे आम जनता पर बोझ बढ़ गया है। इसके साथ ही पुराने क्षेत्रों को भी कर के दायरे में लाया गया है, जिसके प्रॉपर्टी का कारोबार ठप्प हो गया। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार ने तीन महीने के लिए एन.ओ.सी. में छूट देकर राजस्व बढ़ाया, लेकिन सरकार ने अभी तक इसका कोई स्थायी समाधान नहीं निकाला है। पिछले तीन सालों में रजिस्ट्रेशन फीस में दो बार 40 प्रतिशत की बढ़ौतरी हो चुकी है और स्टांप फीस भी बढ़ाई जा चुकी है। इसके चलते आम आदमी के लिए घर बनाना और प्लॉट खरीदना मुश्किल हो गया है। उनके लिए यह पूरा मामला असहनीय हो गया है।
