बुधवार को चीनी और डिस्टिलरी कंपनियों के शेयरों (Sugar Stocks Today) में तेजी देखने को मिली, जो गुरुवार को भी जारी है। इसकी वजह यह है कि भारत के सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने इथेनॉल ब्लेंडिंग को 100% तक बढ़ाने की वकालत की है। भारत अभी तक इस लेवल के करीब भी नहीं पहुँचा है, मगर ब्राजील में दशकों से ये सफलतापूर्वक लागू है। बड़ी डिस्टिलरी क्षमता वाली चीनी मिलों को इस कदम से फायदा हो सकता है, क्योंकि अतिरिक्त चीनी का इस्तेमाल इथेनॉल उत्पादन में किया जा सकता है। यही वजह है कि चीनी शेयरों में तेजी बकरार है।

इन शेयरों में ये तेजी गुरुवार को BSE पर करीब डेढ़ बजे दिख रही है।
क्या है गडकरी का आइडिया?
हाल ही में इंडियन फेडरेशन ऑफ ग्रीन एनर्जी के ‘ग्रीन ट्रांसपोर्ट कॉन्क्लेव’ में बोलते हुए गडकरी ने कहा कि “भारत को अपने मौजूदा 20% इथेनॉल ब्लेंडिंग के लक्ष्य से आगे बढ़कर E100 की दिशा में काम करना चाहिए, यानी पूरी तरह से इथेनॉल से चलने वाले वाहनों को अपनाना चाहिए, ठीक उसी तरह जैसा ब्राज़ील पहले ही हासिल कर चुका है।”
इस मौके पर गडकरी ने पश्चिम एशिया के संघर्ष का हवाला दिया और कहा कि भारत की तेल आयात पर निर्भरता, आर्थिक और रणनीतिक, दोनों नजरिए से एक कमजोरी है। गौरतलब है कि भारत इस समय अपनी जरूरत का 87% तेल आयात करता है, और जीवाश्म ईंधनों पर सालाना लगभग ₹22 लाख करोड़ खर्च करता है।
गडकरी का तर्क है कि इस हद तक निर्भरता होने के कारण, ऊर्जा के क्षेत्र में आत्मनिर्भरता अब राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा का एक अहम मुद्दा बन गई है।
इन कंपनियों को होगा फायदा
इथेनॉल ब्लेंडिंग के ऊँचे लक्ष्यों से चीनी कंपनियों को सीधे फायदा होगा। गडकरी ने ये भी कहा कि समय के साथ पेट्रोल और डीजल से चलने वाले वाहनों को हतोत्साहित किया जाना चाहिए, लेकिन उन्होंने यह भी माना कि उपभोक्ताओं को यह बदलाव करने के लिए मजबूर नहीं किया जा सकता।
