कामत ने 15 जनवरी को X पर एक पोस्ट में कहा, “मुंबई के नगर निगम चुनावों के कारण आज भारतीय स्टॉक एक्सचेंज बंद हैं। यह बात कि हमारे एक्सचेंज, जिनके इंटरनेशनल लिंक्स हैं, एक लोकल नगर निगम चुनाव के लिए बंद हैं, यह खराब प्लानिंग और दूसरे दर्जे के असर को समझने की गंभीर कमी को दिखाता है।”
वॉरेन बफेट के इन्वेस्टर और लंबे समय के बिजनेस पार्टनर रहे दिवंगत चार्ली मुंगेर का हवाला देते हुए, कमत ने कहा कि यह छुट्टी इसलिए है क्योंकि किसी को भी इसका विरोध करने में कोई फायदा नहीं है। उन्होंने ऐसे फैसलों को ग्लोबल इन्वेस्टर्स द्वारा भारत को गंभीरता से न लेने का कारण भी बताया।
