बता दें कि टी20 विश्व कप 2026 के फाइनल मैच के लिए 9 मार्च रिजर्व डे है। अगर रविवार को मैच नहीं हो पाता है तो इसे सोमवार को पूरा किया जाएगा। मैच का रिजल्ट निकालने के लिए कम से कम 10-10 ओवर का खेल होना जरूरी है। अगर 1 टीम 20 ओवर खेल लेती है और उसके बाद बारिश होती है तो DLS मैथ्ड से रिजल्ट निकालने के लिए दूसरी टीम को कम से कम 10 ओवर खेलने होंगे।
अगर रविवार को मैच अधूरा रह जाता है और अतिरिक्त समय में भी पूरा नहीं होता है तो सोमवार को वहीं से शुरू होगा, जहां से 8 मार्च को खत्म हुआ था। दोनों ही दिन मैच पूरा कराने के लिए अतिरिक्त 120-120 मिनट होंगे। अगर मैच डे और रिजर्व डे पर भी मैच नहीं हो पाता है तो अंत में भारत और न्यूजीलैंड को संयुक्त रूप से विनर घोषित कर दिया जाएगा।

बता दें कि अब तक एक बार ही आईसीसी टूर्नामेंट का फाइनल मैच रद हुआ है। चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी 2002 का फाइनल मैच भारत और श्रीलंका के बीच खेला गया था। बारिश के कारण यह मैच पूरा नहीं हो पाया था, ऐसे में दोनों टीमों को संयुक्त रूप से विजेता घोषित कर दिया गया था।
