महाकाल मंदिर के पुजारी पंडित महेश शर्मा ने बताया कि मंदिर में रात्रि 2:30 बजे मंदिर के पट खुलते ही पंडे पुजारियों ने गर्भगृह में स्थापित भगवान की प्रतिमाओं का पूजन किया। दूध, दही, घी, शक्कर और फलों के रस से बने पंचामृत से भगवान महाकाल का जलाभिषेक किया गया।
